Colegio San José, Puerto Rico, conducts a Composting workshop for its students.

Writer: AdminAdmin

Edilmari Longo Vega, Ministry Lead and School Counselor at Colegio San José, San Juan, Puerto Rico, sends us this update.

On Thursday, November 9th, 2023, the environmental committee of EcoSchool organized a virtual workshop on composting offered by the renowned agronomist Dalma Cartagena. Ms. Cartagena guided each participant through the fundamentals of composting, emphasizing the importance of the integration of the entire school community. The structure of the workshop allowed each student to reflect on the benefits of this practice. The inclusion of moderators and students from the Ecology and Recycling clubs strengthened our sense of family and reinforced our commitment to sustainability. This initiative demonstrates the efforts of our students to promote Marianist values. Furthermore, the expert described her interaction with the conquerors* as a heavenly experience.
