Community and Mission at Casa de María

Managed by the Marianist Family of Valencia, Spain, on land granted by the Archdiocese, Casa de María is a missionary community that serves the neighborhood and city through social, educational, and celebratory activities rooted in the Marianist charism of solidarity, dialogue, and Christian development.
Casa de María is an initiative of the Marianist Family of Valencia (most associates are members of the Marianist Lay Communities, and the Marianist religious community of the Daughters of Mary Immaculate also participates). It is a missionary community at the service of Valencian society and the Church (the site was granted by the Archdiocese of Valencia to the Marianist Fraternities for this project, managed by 11 permanently consecrated members from the Valencia area), dedicated to human and Christian development, guided by the Marianist charism. …to live in solidarity with the men and women of our time, collaborating in the building of a more just and fraternal world, promoting and cultivating values such as hospitality, equality, peace, integration, tolerance, listening, dialogue, and care for our common home;
…to proclaim the Gospel, making the Good News of Jesus visible to the men and women of our world.
And we seek to embody these objectives in a special place of encounter:

A place where respect, freedom, equality, justice, and hospitality are promoted.
A place dedicated to the neighborhood, to our city.

A place where we care for our common home: a world for everyone.

The Casa de María missionary project makes its presence felt by creating life from the concrete reality of our city and the neighborhood where we are, taking into account its hopes, strengths, shortcomings, and needs.
As Marianists, guided by our charism, we have been called and are present to share, welcome, accompany, listen, and help in the search for the meaning and transcendence of life.
The goal is to foster life and community right here, grounded in the Casa de María project, which rests on four fundamental pillars: prayer, celebration, formation, and service—always open to the action of the Holy Spirit—and fostering spaces for welcome, listening, prayer, and celebration through various workshops and activities open to the neighborhood and our city.
At Casa de María, activities are carried out in the following areas:
Social and humanitarian: academic tutoring for children and youth, counseling and guidance, a study space for youth, support for adults in learning Spanish and Valencian, companionship for isolated youth and seniors, leisure activities, solidarity and awareness campaigns, etc.
Educational activities: courses and workshops in various fields (art, humanities, life skills, ecology, spirituality, etc.), conferences, seminars, and talks, film forums and discussions, spiritual formation, and support for Christian education, etc.
Celebratory activities: open community prayer services, ecumenical celebrations, liturgical celebrations, and religious gatherings of various kinds, as well as social and recreational gatherings.
