James Bendele, Ministry Lead of MFEP and Guardian Angels Moderator at Central Catholic High School in San Antonio, TX, sends us this update.
Over the course of the school year, our Guardian Angels have performed 40 community service projects! We recently finished our Lenten Drive, where we collected over $500 in loose change during lunch shifts. The money was sent to Habitat for Humanity (so they could purchase more tools), to Seton Home (so they could purchase more diapers), to Determined to Develop (mission work in Malawi, Africa), to the Madonna Neighborhood Center (to stock their food pantry), and lastly to the Villa Maria Residence (a residence for nuns and young women).
We also recently had our last blood drive of the year, where we had 33 wonderful donors step up.
Finally, this past weekend, we had a project at the Respite Care Center of San Antonio. The Respite Care Center of San Antonio is a shelter for children dealing with a variety of disabilities. It was an honor being able to spend a day taking care of their facilities!
A very special THANK YOU goes out to all those who have participated in our projects this year! You have really made a difference in our world!
Sincerely in Christ,
James Bendele
Guardian Angel Moderator
