Jose J. Matos Auffant, Executive Director at Tecaboca Retreat Center, TX, sends us this update.

The Texas Hill Country Fly Fishers have been very active at Tecaboca this Spring.  They hosted nature workshops in January (see photos below), the first-ever trout tournament at Tecaboca in February (website - https://thcff.org/event-5582825). They will continue to gather small groups each week throughout the semester to enjoy fishing at the beautiful Johnson Creek that runs through the property.  Reinvesting members' dues in the trout leasing program and water quality projects are another way they promote a better relationship with nature in the Hill Country.

The increased collaboration with this important association has been instrumental in promoting the Tecaboca Marianist Center among members from all backgrounds and ages in Kerrville, Hunt, Ingram, Fredericksburg, and other communities near San Antonio. Their goal of taking care of nature for future generations resonates with our extended Tecaboca families and friends. And their activities at Tecaboca also help advance a number of the Laudato Si platform action areas, including fostering ecological economics, offering ecological education, and supporting local communities.
