CMCP Girls Volleyball Donates $6,000 for Breast Cancer

Bro. Jack Ventura, SM, Ministry Lead of MFEP and Director of Mission Integration at Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory, Hollywood, FL, sends us this update.

Two of the commitments of the Global Compact on Education are to place the value and dignity of the human person at the center of every formal and informal education process and to welcome all, especially the most vulnerable and marginalized. To be diagnosed with breast cancer can be devasting. It can also bring to the surface one's vulnerability, questioning one's dignity. In response to these two commitments, CMCP Girls Volleyball participated in the 14th Annual C-M Cares Volleyball Tournament.

On November 29, 2023, the CMCP Girls Volleyball team (with their coaches) presented a $6,000 donation to the Michael and Dianne Bienes Cancer Center at Holy Cross Health in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Holy Cross Health is a leading healthcare institution committed to providing exceptional and compassionate patient care. This donation will enable Holy Cross Health to invest in state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and facilities, providing medical teams with the resources necessary to deliver outstanding care.

As Holy Cross Health continues to evolve in response to the dynamic healthcare landscape, the focus remains on meeting present and future healthcare needs while embracing the latest medical innovations. "We deeply appreciate Chaminade-Madonna's investment in improving community health and the well-being of our patients," said Jennifer Hernandez, Director of Development at Holy Cross Health. "Their generosity will have a lasting impact on our future, guaranteeing that we remain the preferred destination for exceptional and compassionate care in Broward County."

CMCP and Holy Cross Health continue to collaborate in serving the vulnerable and marginalized and raising the value and dignity of all patients.
