Colegio San José's Spring initiatives

Edilmari Longo Vega, Ministry Lead for Marianist Encounters at Colegio San José, San Juan, PR, sends us this update about preparing a sustainability plan for the upcoming school year and officially receiving the Green Flag award.

We achieved the following during Spring 2025:

April 4: The Ecology Club supplied the lettuce from their garden! They have been working on this project for a few months, and the whole school had the chance to taste the fruits of their labor during lunch.

April 23:  The leadership of the Eco-School Environmental Committee had the honor of receiving a visit from Ms. Carmen Valentín, Executive Director of the Organization for Sustainable Environment (OPAS). During the meeting, they discussed setting clear objectives for developing a sustainability plan for the upcoming school year. Additionally, the Green Flag was officially presented—a distinction that recognizes our school's commitment to and efforts in sustainability.
