Gross Catholic High School's Spring Mission Day guided students through a series of spiritual presentations, team-building exercises, and school-wide reconciliation to help them deepen their Catholic faith in preparation for Holy Week.
Students at Gross Catholic High School in Omaha experienced our Spring Mission Day last Friday. The day started with a presentation from Guadalupe Missions about the historical and spiritual significance of Our Lady's appearance to St. Juan Diego in 1531. Students had the opportunity to venerate an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe and reflect on Mary's spiritual motherhood in their own lives. This was a great way to celebrate our Marianist heritage and educate our students about Mary's role in bringing them closer to Jesus. After that, students heard a member of our staff speak as a witness about leaning on the Lord to overcome obstacles in their lives, followed by a series of team-building activities with their peers. This was followed by an examination of conscience led by a staff member. The day ended with all-school reconciliation in preparation for Holy Week. Our biannual mission day is always a great way for students to deepen their relationship with Jesus and with each other as we remember our school's primary mission to educate students in the Catholic faith.
